Taylor's Ham

where food and music and Taylor Swift collide

Happy 15th birthday, Taylor’s Ham!

It is a little hard to believe that I’ve been writing on Taylor’s Ham since 2009.

Think about that. Where were you 15 years ago?

I was…

Living in Queens.

Finishing an MFA in memoir.

About to meet the man who would become my husband.

Just starting my career as a communications professional.

Back then, I started writing Taylor’s Ham as a hobby — one I’ve sustained all this time as other hobbies fell away. At the time, I thought, what if I could bring my love for food and all things Taylor Ham together with the beginning of a lifelong love of Taylor Swift (and of course music in general)? Thus, Taylor’s Ham was born.

Over the years, I’ve scaled back on restaurant reviews given my evolving lifestyle. I’ve also become a more observant music critic, a role I took up back in college when writing for the campus magazine.

If you can believe it, Taylor’s Ham has featured:

Nearly 30 posts about Taylor Swift and her music.

Six (!!!) posts about the album Red.

More than 100 restaurant reviews.

Posts about restaurants all over the United States, spanning from San Francisco up to Portland, OR all the way to Portland, ME, down the Mid Atlantic to Philadelphia and going as far south as Fort Lauderdale (wouldn’t you love to hear me pronounce it).

While I’ve moved on from food Mecca New York City, there are plenty of restaurants where I live now that I’d love to feature. If I can ever get a babysitter.

To celebrate Taylor’s Ham’s milestone, I’ve reskinned the site and introduced a new header image, photos taken from the Eras Tour and a local diner. Don’t sleep on my Photoshop skills.

Thank you for sticking with Taylor’s Ham all these years. There’s so much left to explore and I hope you continue reading.

And to the Taylor’s pork roll brand: I’m never giving up this URL.

One response to “Happy 15th birthday, Taylor’s Ham!”

  1. Happy 15th anniversary with Taylor’s Ham! You do such a fantastic job – I always look forward to reading the latest food or music reviews you provide. You are such a great writer – my favorite writer! Your reviews are thorough and complete. You should have a wider audience. When you write about food my mouth is watering and I want to go to the restaurant. When you review music I want to buy the album. Your writing is inspirational.

    I wish you continued success.
